Everyone enjoy Cinco de Mayo?? I can never seem to remember it until the day after (which would be sexto de Mayo — sounds like a bad adult film).
People often ask us about what point & shoot camera to buy. My knee-jerk response used to be “Canon PowerShot ELPH.” It’s a super camera; Canon is fantastic. However, about a year ago I picked up a point & shoot to keep in my purse, backpack, airline bag, to take quick pics of my kids when I’m not toting my “real” camera. I LOVE it. I seriously love it. It takes the best pictures, it’s easy to carry around and it feels great. Thing is, it’s not a Canon PowerShot. I went against my own recommendation and bought something else. Here’s what I have:
A couple of weekends ago, I (along with two other leaders) took a group of Girl Scouts on a weekend campout. Remember the April weekend that was FREEZING and it snowed? That was the weekend. (It truly was fantastic!) I snapped pictures all weekend with my little Lumix. I don’t think anyone would look at those pictures and think they were done with a simple point & shoot. Check them out:
