OK – I meant to post this right after I shot these, so it could still be sent on the 4th, but, well… I am on vacation
I thought I’d play with shooting some firework photos from our hotel room balcony. I had to check on my daughter occasionally during the show so I wasn’t as focused on the show as I might have been otherwise. My daughter was huddled in our hotel room with noise-canceling headphones watching Wow Wow Wubsy on my iPod. I didn’t have much success with the actual firework shots, since I didn’t bring a tripod. But I did have some fun shooting some shots with a long lens. Check out what I did below:
Here I was focused on the fireworks when my mom says, “Wow, the reflection on the water is really cool.” She was right!

Here’s a wider shot showing the beach and the folks standing along the shore (and in the water) and the reflection from the fireworks in the sky.
