Man, it was cold when I photographed Lauren for her senior session at her farm near Desoto. It was probably about 38 degrees, but there was a mighty North wind that made it feel more like it was 22 degrees.
Lauren was a trooper, though. We paced ourselves, coming in occasionally to warm up, and shot for about 2 hours. Then Lauren's family invited me to stay for some home-made chicken noodle soup. Yum! It really hit the spot. Thanks guys!
They have a cool pond near the house that is surrounded by cattails.
I used a lens baby to capture this moment, blurring the image in just the right places.
On one of our many trips to the house to warm up, I photographed Sandy who was laying by the fire. Smart dog!
I love how Lauren's scarf gives a great pop of color among the pine trees.
I love the texture of the bark and lichen on the tree.
Hanging out in the barn helped keep Lauren warmer, too.
Thank you, Lauren, for being such a good sport on a cold day. And thanks to your whole family for showing me such gracious hospitality. ~ Doug
