This could be the cutest dog ever.

Turbo, one of the many dogs I photographed at Southern Agriculture in Tulsa this past weekend, was aptly named and cute as can be.

Goodbye, Friend.

Today we said goodbye to a good friend — maybe our best friend for almost 15 years. When I think of black dog, now of course Kdog, I think of her as the first black dog and the namesake of the studio. Now years later, she is still the first thing that pops into my head whenever I hear someone say black dog or Kdog. We are grateful for her years of fun and friendship, and even the unrelenting desire to play ball or fetch the stick. And those of you who knew her know what I mean when I say unrelenting.

The picture above was taken a year and a half ago outside of Crested Butte, Colorado, on the way to the top of trail #403. It is one of my favorites, because at 13 years old, I was amazed at how easily she made the climb up past 11,500 ft. It’s her classic pose, stick in her mouth and intently focused on me just in case I was ready to have a game of fetch. It was always very serious business with her.

We will always miss her, but we will always remember and celebrate the years that she gave us. There will be other good friends, but there will never be another quite like our black dog . . . Lucy.

Here are some shots from a couple shoot I did last week of Mary & Bill. We do engagement sessions often… but it was fun to shoot a couple that had been married for 5 years. The gingko trees had just peaked, so we had a carpet of yellow to play on.

I got to photograph their cat, too, who was AWESOME. I love shooting cats. Fritz was very laid back and a lot of fun when we got him outside.

What a fun pregnancy shoot! It had a little of everything: belly, dogs, hubby, indoors, outdoors and lots of sun flare. Stefanie is super sweet and SO easy-going. We started in her kitchen, where she had the coolest wallpaper:

The picture I want to show you is a slight bit revealing, so I have to wait until I get permission.

ARGH.

Then we went outside:

She has three stinking cute Dachshunds — here's one of them:

Then her hubby DJ came home from work to join us. He was a tad hesitant, but I think he'd say it was painless (and maybe even somewhat enjoyable)!

Didn't I tell you? Wasn't that fun?!? I can't wait to meet their new addition — just in time for the holidays. Merry merry!

How adorable is a new puppy??!??!?! And how adorable is this little girl??!?!! The two together made me just want to eat them both up. So cute.

She is such a cutie!

Can you trust this face? Absolutely not!!

I love the color in this — the background is the Bloch Building. Such great architecture!
