It’s been really fun to share this experience with them as they prepare for a baby in their lives. This particular shoot was one of the most enjoyable ever. Jason cooked for us – those were the BEST chicken sandwiches I’ve had! — and they were both so welcoming and gracious. I could have hung out with them all night (though I probably would have had to put the camera away at some point). I look forward to the next pregnancy shoot in a few weeks! (I’m guessing Kelly’s shape has changed just a bit . . . .)

What a fun pregnancy shoot! It had a little of everything: belly, dogs, hubby, indoors, outdoors and lots of sun flare. Stefanie is super sweet and SO easy-going. We started in her kitchen, where she had the coolest wallpaper:

The picture I want to show you is a slight bit revealing, so I have to wait until I get permission.

Then her hubby DJ came home from work to join us. He was a tad hesitant, but I think he'd say it was painless (and maybe even somewhat enjoyable)!

What a fun shoot this was! Kari is an amazing jewelry artist — check out her work (and get some for yourself) at kariheybrock.com. She came to Kdog several years ago when her daughter (we'll call her "S") was a baby. Now she's pregnant with her second child, and I got to document her in all her pregnant glory along with her lovely family.

Monica : Pregnancy

Wow — Monica was soooooo ready to have this baby! She looked fantastic, even though she was feeling every bit of 9 months pregnant. We shot in the studio and then took it outside for a few. Here's a glimpse:

Congratulations! They welcomed little Gabrielle Marie into the world last week. I know Monica's exhausted!!! I remember those days. Rule Number One: sleep when the baby sleeps (and that's no joke). You can go to Target another day.

I absolutely love it when people return to Kdog for more pictures, not only because it tells me we might actually be doing something right in our business, but also because then I get to see these clients and their families change and grow. It's pretty cool. Case in point: I first met Tracee when she commissioned us to photograph her engagement and wedding a couple of years ago. And what a spectacular wedding that was! Then I was fortunate enough to see her again when she was pregnant with Baby #1. She looks amazing pregnant, by the way. I certainly never looked that good! I had baby coming out my ears and my toes. (Of course, I was pregnant with two at once.) So, here she is, pregnant with Baby #2, and Baby #1 is now 18 months old!!! Time flies much too quickly. So we did a shoot, mostly focusing on Baby #1, but getting a bit of her cute belly in there, as well.

Just look at those eyes! Pure sweetness . . . .

You can't even tell she's pregnant here! THAT'S how good she looks.

Playing the "going back and forth through Mommy's legs" game. Always a crowd-pleaser.

That little rascal finally gave me some smiles! His Mommy AND Grammy worked very hard during this shoot.

Tracee, thank you for coming back to see me. I love catching up with you (and your mom) and seeing the wonderful changes in your family. I can't wait to meet Baby #2!!! See you soon.

Kathleen called the other day for a pregnancy shoot. She's 8 1/2 months along and starting to feel every bit of it. You would never know it; she looks FANTASTIC. I wish I had looked that good when I was that pregnant. Check her out:

I've shot a lot of pregnancy portraits in the studio and enjoy doing so, but I have to say that I LOVE shooting them outside. By the way, it was FREEZING the day I asked her to take a few outside. She was such a trooper. Does she look cold? No — she looks amazing.
