Introducing the newest, the coolest racing team in KC . . . Midwest Velo, sponsored by HCA Midwest Cancer Care (and Kdog, among others). As mentioned in a previous blog entry, Philip and I got to photograph the members of this team a few weeks ago. We went down to the West Bottoms and had a blast! Eight of the ten team members were able to join us for the shoot, and based on the great spirit of these guys (and gal), I look forward to meeting the other two.

I can’t wait to see these guys (and gal) in action!!!

A friend of mine brought me a bride and some bouquets to photograph yesterday. She is starting a new floral design business and needed some good photography. Here are a few of the images we got yesterday.

Lindsay was our bride/model for this shoot. She was great – very easy to photograph and up for anything.

I love this bouquet – it's subtle, yet beautiful.

I was told right before the shoot started to make sure not to photograph her boots (of course, I thought she said something else). How could I resist? Love this shot!

As promised, I have more images of Elle's amazing jewelry. We photographed some rings, bracelets and the ever-popular "Mommy" tag necklaces:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mommy necklace; I wear it every day, along with my "HAPPY" phat ring and silver-and-pearl earrings. Oh, and she has a new creation that I love — we can't decide which flower this looks like:

She said clematis, but I didn't think calling one's art "clematis" would be cool. It just sounds wrong. Please tell me if you know what kind of flower this looks like. This piece is so cool, of course, it doesn't really need a name. I love it and plan on stealing it from Elle when she's not looking.

I don't toot her horn enough! Elle — of the amazing elle silverworks — is such a talented artist. We've been working on updating her images. She's always developing new jewelry creations, which make fabulous gifts and happy self-indulgences. Here's a sneak peek while we finish shooting her work — I'll blog more images after we get them. Carnival!

Kdog went to the carnival a couple of weekends ago… What fun! Philip and Rachel brought their girls, and my wife and daughter joined me, and we all rode the rides for hours and hours. Here are some photos from the night.

Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrew and his carnival for hosting us! Andrew's carnival will be at Shawnee Days June 4 through 7 for more carnival fun… There's a good chance we'll be there, too!

Day Two

We finished the weekend at STUFF in Brookside – with a photo tent at the Wings of Hope event – having shot just over 5000 photos! Back in the days of film, that would have equaled almost 140 rolls of film. Crazy, but fun! We photographed a lot of people the past two days and posted a lot of photos online from the event. It was great to come back to the event after having been gone for a few years. We had a blast!

Wings of Hope

Here are some of the photos from our first day at STUFF's Wings of Hope event. Come on down and have some photos taken today (Sunday, November 16) at STUFF in Brookside in our cool (literally!) photo tent. Then stay and shop for some great, artsy STUFF at their Holiday Open-House that supports the KU Endowment Fund to help find a cure for cancer (10% of sales and all raffle-ticket money are donated).

Philip's done his typical-amazing job of capturing great photos and I've been working hard to get them online as soon as possible after they are shot.
